My Experiments

My YouTube Experiments

Even though I am an automation engineer, I try my hand in almost all the engineering branches. After all, engineering is applied physics and physics is my favourite subject. I have developed some innovative experiments ranging from robotics to civil engineering. I suggest you try these experiments at your home. You will fall in love with engineering and practical learning.

Boston Robotics revealed by Sabin Mathew
This experiment clearly demonstrated the advantage of backward bend leg robots over forward bend leg robots. We developed this experiment to demonstrate the secrets of Spot robot’s leg design.
LED Experiment by Sabin Mathew
It was fun to play with different LED colours. They produce totally different output when mixed with different percentages.
Train wheels shape explianed by Sabin Mathew
Railway enthusiasts will love this experiment. This simple paper cup experiment will teach you why the shape of train wheels is tapered.
Dent of World Trade Center
This was a revolutionary experiment. This simple experiment clearly demonstrated why the walls of the World trade Centre dented due to heating. Sometimes, it is challenging to prove things mathematically. However, after this experiment many people got a clear idea about how the sagging floors of WTC caused the perimeter tubes to bend.
Sabin Mathew explaining tuned mass damper
If you are struggling to understand or teach 'tuned mass damper', please try this experiment. The current class experiments of TMD are complicated and expensive. I am glad that this new experiment I developed will make the concept of tuned mass damping clear in an easy way.
Underwater construction of Golden Gate Bridge
I sometimes play with concrete too. To demonstrate the underwater construction challenges of the Golden gate bridge we had a cool demonstration. You can see clearly from this image that normal cement just spreads in water.
Sabin Mathew explaining concept of Tubeless Tire
A cool demonstration which clears the concept of tubeless tires.
An Alluminium Sword and steel
Can aluminium cut through steel? This experiment was crucial in settling the WTC collapse controversy.
Sabin Mathew with Stirling engine
It was fun to play with the Stirling engine.
An aluminum nail penetrates through steel
Aluminium nail penetrates through steel plate - A do it at your home experiment.
Hoover Dams intake towers
Me with the Hoover dam’s intake towers. We showed it clearly why the intake towers are crucial in filtering out the debris.
Lowering mechanism of London's Tower Bridge bascule
Bascule lowering mechanism of London's Tower bridge.
